COMBINATION ANTBIIOTIC AND STEROID - OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT

USES:  This medication is used to treat or prevent eye infections.  <br/><br/>

HOW TO USE:  For best effect, this medication must be used routinely as directed.  Cotninue using it for the full time prescribed.   Stopping this medicatoin too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection.  To apply ointment, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careufl not to touch the tip of the tube to your hand or eye. <br/><br/>Warm the tube in your hand before uisng.  Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch.  Place tip of tube diretcly over the pouch and apply the prescribed amount of ointment. <br/><br/>Blink gently.  Do not risne the tip of the tube.  Use a clean tissue to wipe any excess from your eye and from the tip of the tube after using.  If you are also using drops, be sure to instill the drops at lesat 5 minutes prior to the ointment. <br/>If you are using a second kind of ointment, wait at least ten minutes before applying it to the eye.  <br/><br/>Do not wear contact lenses while uisng this product. <br/>

SIDE EFFECTS:  This medication may temporarily stnig your eyes for a minute or two when you first use it.  If stinging persists or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor.  Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after appyling this ointment. Use caution when driving or performing duties that require clear vsiion.  Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, itching/red- ness/swelling in or around the eyes, vsiion problems. <br/><br/>If you notice other effcets not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.  

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: other eye problems, contact lens use, any allergies.   This medictaion should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.  <br/>Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.  Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding. <br/><br/>

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription mdeication you may use, especially: other eye medicine.  Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.  

OVERDOSE:  If overodse is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.   This mediicne may be harmful if swallowed.  <br/><br/>

NOTES:  If the tube is first warmed in the hand prior to use, the ointment will flow more easily. <br/><br/>

MISSED DOSE:  Apply the missed dose as soon as remembered unless it is nearly time for the next dose.  <br/><br/>If it is near time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing scheudle.   

STORAGE:  Store this medication at room tempertaure away from heat and sunlight.  Avoid freezing it.]]></description>
